Owner and President of Carter Appraisal Services, Inc., Mr. Carter has over 25 years experience in the real estate field as a Broker, appraiser, and investor.  He holds the prestigious SRA designation from the Appraisal Institute, the nation's most recognized appraisal organization, and is a licensed Appraiser Instructor.  He received a BBA in Real Estate and Urban Development from the University of Georgia, as well as an AS degree from Abraham Baldwin College.  He is an FHA approved appraiser and a Charter member of the Athens Area Council of Real Estate Appraisers - serving four terms as President.  He specializes in commercial / investment properties, consultation, litigation appraisals (resulting from estates, divorces, equity partition, property disputes), court testimony, and partial-interest appraisals, particularly rights-of-way. 

Memberships include the Athens Board of Realtors, Athens Chamber of Commerce, and Women's Council of Realtors.  Civic involvement includes past member of High Shoals City Council, past member and VP of Board of Kelly Workshop, current Chairman of Housing and Economic Leadership Partners Board of Directors, past President of Athens Jaycees, past District and Region Director for Georgia Jaycees, past Commander of Georgia Jaycee rebel Corps.  Scheduled to begin teaching RE courses for the University of Georgia Center for Continuing Education fall quarter of 2008.

Patti has a BSEd. from the University of Georgia, and is a lifetime resident of Clarke and Oconee counties.  She has been a full time appraiser for over seven years and specializes in residential properties in Clarke, Oconee, Madison, Oglethorpe, and Jackson Counties.  Patti has served on the Athens Area Council of Child Abuse and has served several terms on the Board of Directors of the Athens Jaycees.  She is knowledgeable of the local market, and we are proud to have Patti as a part of our team at Carter Appraisal Services.

A native of Savannah, Georgia, Steven received his BBA in International Business from the University of Georgia. He is extremely familiar with the real estate market in both the local market area and extended northeast Georgia counties such as Gwinnett, Stephens, Franklin, Henry, Habersham, Lumpkin, Hart, White and Rabun.

Steven's knowledge of Spanish allows him to successfully work with the growing Spanish-speaking population in our area. He is currently working to be an approved FHA staff appraiser in order to better serve our FHA lenders.

Originally from Macon, Georgia, Sam received a BA in English and an ABJ in Magazines from the University of Georgia. Before joining Carter Appraisal Services, he worked for three years in the Business & Finance Administration wing at UGA.  Sam works with both residential and commercial appraisals.

Originally from South Carolina, Lisa earned a BS from the University of South Carolina.  She handles the financial end of Carter Appraisal Services, including accounts payable and receivable, company advertising, customer surveys and monthly client statements.  Lisa also handles our software and hardware profiles, network adminstration, and assists in special projects and property research.  She will be happy to help with any invoice or payment question you might have for your business with Carter Appraisal Services.
